Thank you very much for looking after your partners so well. I especially want to thank those who took more than one partner and who helped out entertaining thos eDutch students who didn't have partners.
You can now look forward to returning to the Netherlands with Ms Limm and Mr Ljungrren on 6th October .
Please can we have the next payment of money from those who it it is still due from before the end of this term .

Exciting news for the Netherlands Exchange
Neale-Wade now runs TWO exchange programmes with Anna van Rijn School in the Netherlands. In the spring term year 8 students will get the chance to sign up for the exchange. They will choose a partner from the class matched up with us from Anna van Rijn School. In the summer their partner will visit us. We then go back to stay with our partners in the Netherlands in the Autumn term. In the following year the Dutch students come to visit us again in the summer term . The last part of the exchange is when we return to the Netherlands again in the autumn term. So it is a two year programme which means that the students end up really good friends. many of them continue their friendships long after the exchanges have finished including visiting each other during their holidays.

October 2008
It was very dark and very wet when the year 9 and 10 (and one year 7) students set off for the Netherlands on Wednesady 1st October. They travelled by coach to Harwich before a six hour ferry ride to The Hook of Holland. From there they drove to Nieuwegein, the town just outside Utrecht, where our partner school in the Netherlands, Anna van Rijn, is.
Over the next few days they visited Amsterdam, where they visited a science museum and the Anne Frank House and went to a farm where they took part in a variety of extraordinary games!
See the college blog for more details of each day's activities. Photos of this leg of the exchange can be seen here.
This time last year another group of Neale-wade students were doing the same trip. This group, all now in year 10, will be returning after half term for their final visit to the Netherlands. They will be taking part in an art project, with the opportunity for the best artists to win a "Golden ear Award", and some sporting events.
Some of this group of students have yet to collect the letters they need and return the money and slips to confirm they are going on the trip. They need to do this urgently. See Mr Field in MU2 or print off your own copy by clicking here.

We will be returning to The Netherlands in November. When we are there we will be investigating the art work of Vincent van Goghby visiting the Kroller Muller Museum near Arnhem.
Most of the students in communication with their partners using e-mail, MSN and phones, as they have done every year since Neale-Wade joined the exchange programme. Last year, however, saw the launching of the Netherlands exchange online forum. This is part of the Neale-Wade forum but is accesible by all those students involved in the exchange, not just from Neale-Wade and Anna van Rijn but also all the other English schools invloved in the programme. This year there will be other students from Marshland, Bottisham and Swavesey taking part in the exchange. Each week a new topic will be discussed in the forum and it is hoped that it will become a very useful source of communication and information that will help everyone involved to get to know each other before we meet in June and keep in touch over the next two years of the exchange programme.
Keep checking the website or contact Mr M. Field for details.

A message to all the exchange families
I wanted to express my thanks for all the effort you made in giving our guests such a happy experience. I have had nothing but positive feedback about the whole exchange . Even those students who were quite homesick during their stay have survived due to the care you gave them. If you have had any problems or have any suggestions about how we can improve any aspect of the exchange please do contact me and let me know.
I am hoping to add photos of this year's exchange to the website so if you have any photos including those from family activities done in the evenings or on Saturday I would love to have copies of them. Also don't forget the forum at http://neale-wade.net/forum/ .
I hope that all the students are still excited and looking forward to going to meet up with their new friends again.. It should be a very valuable and enjoyable experience.
To make sure that we are all ready to travel please may I have the following items now brought in to me at school:
If any of these requests poses a problem do not hesitate to contact me so we can sort out a way to solve it.

Netherlands Exchange 2006
What is the Netherlands Exchange?
November 2006 Exchange
The 2006 Netherlands Exchange has now been completed. We have returned exhausted but happy from our visit to Anna van Rijn in Nieuwegein, near Utrecht. Thank you to all the parents and students who coped so marvellously with the extra early start and the stormy crossing. This painting by Willem van de Velde the Younger, which I saw in the Rijksmuseum, seems to catch the mood of the North Sea perfectly!
Click on the painting to go to the Rijksmuseum website. Click on this photo to see more contempory images of our exchange.
Please send me your photos and comments so I can add them to the website. Click here.
Thank you very much to all the Dutch families who have been so brilliant at welcoming and looking after our students. I'm sure they had a good time and enjoyed the educational and social side of the exchange.
