Introduction to Wisbech

Wisbech is a market town on the River Nene in Fenland in Cambridgeshire, 11 miles from the Wash and at the heart of the Fen landscape. At times, it has had a flourishing economy based on its port and the surrounding rich farmland.  However, the economy has declined in recent years and is now suffering from many of the worst social indicators.  Now, though, there are plans to boost the local economy through for major redevelopments on its riverfront area.
