March was once an island surrounded by marshes. It grew from a medieval hamlet to a substantial town with the advent of the railways during the nineteenth century. The College is opposite the famous St. Wendreda's Church, on Wimblington Road in the southern end of March town. The ceiling of the church is wooden, containing over 120 angels and is the finest example of its type in England.
